"Engine #9 At Waterloo Station"

10 x 12 inches oil on canvas mounted to hard board.

In the fall of 2003 I came across this scene.  I felt like I was in a time warp, to see a living breathing  steam engine still operating in these modern times, I was amazed.   As an artist I paint what inspires me, and this scene definitely did just that.  Perspective, texture, and machine precision these where the things that caught my eye, challenging me to paint this moment, out of time.
